Ethical Breeding- Part 6: Oct. 16, 2022

Apologies to those that were following this thread previously- naturally, good old Phoebe decided to hold off on that heat until August. I'm going to do multiple posts- so no one gets tired of reading a single three pager...

As Phoebe is a dapple, we had made arrangements to breed her to a local black and tan. Unfortunately, when I called, they had sold that male, but had acquired another- a lovely little cream-coloured boy. Sadly, a close inspection of a picture revealed what was likely a hint of dapple... so much for that idea.

We went to our back-up plan; a red male in a city about 1.5 hours away. We spoke to the owner, and agreed to come out for a look. He was just over a year-and-a-half old, and had successfully sired a litter of 7 BEAUTIFUL pups. The owners were in a bit of a state, as they were managing several children, a litter of puppies AND a move. Instead of deciding to breed to their male- we bought him outright. I've never really been partial to reds- but he was SUCH a handsome boy. Welcome home, Charlie.

Next up- the breeding. NSF younger readers. Maybe.
