STUD-
CharKenn's Doxie Den Gunner's Mate "Gunner", CKC Reg'd

Male; DOB 21Jun23; 4.5 kg; Dilute Blue (grey) Long Coat

Gunner is... incredible. We fell in love with the Dilute Blue colour phase, and were lucky enough to come across Scott & Kristine Mandar's CharKenn's DoxieDen.  Gunner shows no indication of Dilute Alopecia- as a matter of fact, he has the longest flowing locks of any of our dogs! Personality-wise, he's a colossal suck- a true Mama's boy, but won't back down from a spirited wrestle with any of the others. Lithe, athletic, smart, healthy- everything we wanted in a stud!

DAM- "Phoebe"

Female; DOB 27Jul20; 4.6 kg; Dapple Short Coat

Phoebe was purchased from Danielle Brown in Ontario. Although we'd had Mini's for several years, she was our first girl brought in with breeding in mind- and we couldn't have picked a better one! That's her in the video on the Home page- and she's still just as cute. While we LOVE her looks- her personality is what sets her apart. In short- she rules the roost. Unquestionably the most manipulative little girl ever- she just pulls at your heartstrings until she gets what she wants. She DEFINITELY feels seniority has it's privileges.

Phoebe has already produced two TREMENDOUS litters for us. We hope every puppy we ever whelp brings as much joy to it's owners as "Phoebs" has brought us!

DAM:
Meeka

Female; DOB 15Oct22; 4.2 kg; Black & Tan Short Coat

Once we had our first litter, we started to plan ahead, with an eye to what we wanted from this endeavor. While we certainly love Phoebe's look, there are challenges to breeding any Dapple- they cannot be bred to another dog with the dapple gene, or the puppies risk potential health problems- including blindness & deafness. We wanted a female that came from solid German lines with zero Dapple- and we again found ourselves fortunate to find Hannah Logan at Wheatcrest Farms in Alberta. REAL German lines- actual hunting lines. You'd never know it from Meeks, though- she's just the most chill, sweetest little girl ever. An utter love sponge, she lives to snuggle under a blanket and is the smiling-est Mini ever!

DAM:
Scout of Alberta Tails, CKC REG'D

Female; DOB 19May22; 4 kg; Brindle Long Coat

Scout's what anyone that wants a Miniature Dachshund is looking for. She's a fantastic example of her breed- compact, tough as nails, hilarious and loving. If you're in her circle- she'll love you forever; if not- well, you'd just better mind your P's and Q's, because she'll be keeping an eye on you. Even though she's the smallest- she's absolutely a match for all the rest, even our German Shepherd! 4 kg of fuzzy love and perfection....

We'll never be able to thank Rowan Mattinson of Alberta Tails enough for putting together the best of her American & Russian lines to produce such a magnificent little package!

AU PAIR:
Asta

AU PAIR:
Aspenn von Hage "Asta"

Female; DOB 31Oct16;  36 kg; Dark Sable CKC Reg'd German Shepherd Dog

Asta has seniority. We were German Shepherd people for 40 years, and she's about as good a Shepherd as we've ever seen. Tony & Katie Nikl from Canczech Shepherds paired us- and it's been a match made in heaven.

Ultra protective of the house & occupants, yet just gentle as a lamb with all the Mini's- she's the only dog other than the dam allowed to be around the puppies until after they've had their first set of shots.

STUD (retired)
Charlie

Charles.jpg

We were unbelievably lucky to be able to purchase Charlie when we were looking for our first stud. He's SUCH a handsome boy, and sired two litters of amazing puppies with Phoebe; Charlie's now living his best life after a job well done (twice!). We don't find new homes for dogs that are no longer in the breeding program- they remain part of the family. Charlie still joins his Dad on the recliner every night for a baseball or hockey game.

Aggie

Aggie's been around forever. She's part American Shorthair, part puppy spit. She has the patience of Job with the puppies- and is a GREAT training asset!
